In its MArch2014 monthly report on Mexico's housing sector, Conavi signalled an increase in construction, particularly in housing units. The rise in construction is expected to be accompanied by increases in demand and financing for the sector.

Credit for the housing sector is down slightly from the beginning of 2013 but above the levels of early- 2012. When the special program organized by Infonavit in earlier 2013 is excluded, more housing credit was originated in January 2014 than in January 2013.
